Do I Need a Visa to Enter UAE?

 

Before you travel to the UAE, please check your visa requirements and make sure you have a valid visa if needed. Holders of non-standard passports and travel documents may also have different entry requirements:

Visa FREE

Nationals of the following 37 countries may enter the UAE without a visa for 90 days

 

- All European Union Citizens

- Argentina

- Bahrain

- Iceland

- Japan

- Kuwait

- Liechtenstein

- Norway

- Oman

- Saudi Arabia

- Seychelles

- Switzerland

Holders of diplomatic, official or service passports of AlbaniaChinaColombia, India, Japan and holders of diplomatic passports of Costa RicaMauritius and Russia do not require a visa. Holders of passports for public affairs issued by China also do not require a visa.

Holders of normal passports issued by the following 18 countries and territories are eligible to obtain a no-fee UAE visa on arrival valid for 30 days. Extension is possible for a fee.

Holders of diplomatic or official/service/special passports   of Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brunei, Chile, Egypt, Indonesia, Ireland, Malaysia, Mexico, Montenegro,Morocco, New Zealand, Serbia, Singapore, South Korea, Tunisia, Turkey, United Kingdom (60 days) and Vietnam can obtain a free visa on arrival for a maximum stay of 90 days. Holders of diplomatic passports only of Armenia, Belarus, Jordan (60 days) and Kazakhstan can also obtain a free visa on arrival for a maximum stay of 90 days. Holders of diplomatic or official passports of Australia and the United States can obtain a visa on arrival if holding an e-Visa receipt.

Holders of normal passports issued by  India are eligible to obtain a free 14 day visa on arrival provided they hold a valid visa issued by the United States or a Green Card.

UAE signed visa exemption agreements with the following countries which is yet to be ratified:

- Brazil - for all passports

- Costa Rica - for all passports

- Georgia - for diplomatic and service passports

- Kazakhstan - for ordinary passports and for officials and service passports

- Kenya - for diplomatic passports

Requirements for Visa Application

​

For all others nationals who are not granted visa-free or visa on arrival, UAE visas rules vary according to nationality, age and gender. For example, for Moroccans, Algerians, Libyans, Mauritanians and Tunisians minimum age requirement to apply for a visa is 40. For other nationalities, the minimum age requirement to apply for a visa is 21 for men and 23 for women.

Entry Refusal

Entry to the UAE is refused to nationals of these countries:

- Isarel

- Qatar

​

However, Qatari nationals who are family members of UAE citizens/residents may be permitted entry to the UAE.
